Transaction Junction is proud to offer full business continuity. Transaction Junction provides a switching solution which allows companies to offer their clients a variety of payment options including credit cards, debit cards, cash, gift cards, loyalty cards, vouchers, cheques and linked cards. Companies are also enabled to provide any third party services such as, but not limited to, the ability for consumers to purchase pre-paid airtime, pre-paid electricity, gift vouchers and effect cash withdrawals via the infrastructure, all at the point of sale.
Oculus Switch provides a comprehensive third-party switching service to the marketplace with a pay-as-you use concept and a minimum of 99.99% of transaction processing uptime. This highly efficient operation lowers the cost of switching for the client.
The software platform in use to enable Oculus Switch is the world-renowned Postilion suite of products.

The Customer Service Desk
Transaction Junction's Customer Service Desk facilitates the restoration of normal operational service with minimal business impact within agreed service levels and business priorities. Skilled service desk support or engineers understand the importance of resolving issues effectively and efficiently to ensure the problem does not re-occur.
The Transaction Junction customer service desk provides our clients with the following:

Operation Centre
The Operation Centre provides effective and pro-active monitoring of the EFT transaction processing environment, thus resolving the matter before a point-of-purchase issue occurs.
The Transaction Junction Operation Centre provides:
- 24/7 comprehensive EFT Component Monitoring
- Automated Alerting
- Logging of component failure at the customer services desk
Together with Transaction Junction’s Oculus POS suite, this provides a complete Electronic Funds System management solution.
Transaction Query (Transpector)
Transaction Query provides monitoring and query capabilities through Transpector and queries realtime transactions from the switch transaction database via a web browser. The same functions can be provided to franchise holders or store managers, allowing them access to transaction query functionality. Please refer to Oculus Tools for more information on Transpector.

Business Continuity incorporating Disaster Recovery
The current retail environment demands that the Electronic Funds System remain available, no matter what, to allow the customer to transact. We believe that availability is crucial in a customer-facing business.
Transaction Junction deploys a ‘Live Array of Distributed Servers’ (LADS) solution. LADS places two software-managed production switches at the disposal of our customers. Should the primary server hosted in Cape Town not be available for whatever reason the secondary server hosted in Johannesburg is immediately available without human intervention while maintaining back-office transaction continuity from both servers at both production sites.
Full back office (reconciliation, extracts, settlement and reports) functionality is always available. The effectiveness of LADS is dependent on a redundant network architecture.
Our switching platforms function in one of, if not the best hosting environments in South Africa, operated by Verizon Business. The ability to function through a disaster scenario is supported through a redundant air conditioning system, redundant UPS systems each supporting different areas in the hosting facility, a local diesel store for the backup generator and halon gas fire suppression system with automatic fire dampers.
Hot Card Management
Transaction Junction supports Hot Card files from Retail Decisions (RED) and financial institutions. The consolidated RED Hot Card file is used at the central switch level and updated every 15 minutes. The terminal Hot Card file, from either RED or the financial Institution, can be used at POS level.
Bank Certification
Transaction Junction has certified connections to all major financial institutions.
Communications and Security
Transaction Junction uses the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) to provide guidance for production security and has been vetted and approved by financial institutions security auditors. Transaction Junction can assist clients with EMV and PCI DSS compliancy.
Through transaction query tools and key performance indicator dashboard interfaces, the customer retains control of their payments business strategy whilst Transaction Junction looks after the switching and technical aspects.
